Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 220 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

#ProtectSyrianChildren
I know this is not related to what we talk about in class, but I feel like it should be mention because it needs attention. I watched a video of what is going on Syria and children are getting brutally murder. They were taken away from their parents and are getting beaten. It aches my heart to see this horrific news. It makes me think what kind of world do we live in? Especially children, what did they do wrong? They don't deserve this at all. They can be someone's daughter, son, brother, sister or cousins. Anyway, I am thinking to write a poem based on this horrific tragedy and creating a awareness.

I like your courage to say what's on your mind. I totally agree with you and I think you should write the poem and express all your feelings in the poem.
ReplyDeleteThis is very devastating especially for children to be harmed with all of the innocence in the world that that they have it is truly unfair without even know why this could possibly happen to them; as actions like these jeopardize their future and what will become of their country in the next 30 years , I agree with jean Carlos you should express what’s on your mind it will help you never know who it will impact and what changes it can make
