My Song
I was never the one you said you loved, so I'm not going to
continue anymore. Now I'm moving forward because once I looked up to the sky, I
understood
You never loved me everything I
lived for was just a lie to see me smile.
You never loved me but I understood
that I never belonged to you.
You were that love where I gave the purest of my being. But I
won’t stop, I am going for more because I understood
You never loved me everything I
lived for was just a lie to see me smile.
You never loved me but I understood
that I never belonged to you.
Not everything is lost, I am going for more
There is a world waiting for me to be conquer
Authors Note: This
piece is actually a song I wrote in Spanish. It was inspired in an experience I
had. I tried to translate into English to see if it works as part of my
collection as a hybrid. I feel unsure if it makes sense because of the
translation. If you guys have any comments I would happily accept them.
I love this! It does make sense in English too. Its very relate-able and I believe the person make this character feel like he never loved her and did all that as an act to make her feel happy at the moment. Now shes done being sad and ready to be independent and do things for her and as the song states, she will "conquer". That's my interpretation of this song, i'm not sure if you meant to define something else with this song or send out a different message. I really enjoyed this song though and hope you do more!
ReplyDeleteThere a lot of repetitions in this song. Also, this song has a sad tone because it repeats"You never loved me" four times. The word love is positive but changes to negative when the word "never" is added. I get the sense that you move on because of this lines "I am going for more" and "There is a world waiting for me to be conquer". You can find another fish in the sea XD.
ReplyDeleteSuper relatable!! The last two lines are my favorite. I feel like you could add maybe a couple more lines to add to the good and bad that you had to experience to give it your own little personal touch too! Other than that I think this has great potential to be a piece to add to your collection!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the simple repetition to the song it allows me to really get the subject of the song. I can imagine the song being played with a calm beat with a fast-yet steady tempo. I'm curious though who hurt who in this song? was it a mutual thing or was the only the writer the one who was hurt? Because in the first stanza it seems that the writer is hurt by a loved one, but in the next two stanzas it seems the writer was hurting his/her self by living a lie just to smile. The last line is very powerful and really gives this song a kick. Overall hearing a sort of beat to the song would give me more of a better perspective.
